The program takes place in all 50 states and Washington DC, with some states having local programs as well. Depending on the state or local program, young women participate in their junior or senior year of high school.

Local program representatives, in states where locals are available, advance to the state program. All state representatives participate in the National Finals in June after high school graduation.
